Textile Fantasies - November 25 2022

Written & Produced by Kanot
Vocals by Virginia & The Flood, Nose & Lindha Kallerdahl
Mixed at Furustudion, Sthlm
12" LP released on Höga Nord Rekords, Gothenburgh
Textile Artwork by Ulla Jarold

"The defenders of psych-funk, Kanot are back with their first full length album on Höga Nord Rekords. “Textile Fantasies” is an interdimensional groove voyage to a parallel universe where the nineties never happened. The beginning of the A-side represents the peaceful nature romantic side of Kanot where guitar licks are dancing like swarming mosquitoes round your head. You’re being onboard a canoe, in the early summer on Säveån, a river on the Swedish west coast. “Textile Fantasies” develops into a more dramatic scenery as the droning feeling in the tracks give way to more beat orientated music. Kanot is slowly approaching the city as the album goes on. Every sound on the record is thoroughly picked and placed in the mix. Like laying a jigsaw puzzle, Anton Kolbe puts down the virtuoso contributions of Jesper Jarold, building a dynamic and playful soundscape. Every song is pleasant in it’s own way and contributes to broaden the Kanot-universe. "

Hit & Run - Januari 18 2021

Written & Produced by Kanot
Vocals by Nose & Annsoe
Mixed at Furustudion, Sthlm
12" Vinyl released on Abstrack Records, Nantes
Artwork by Kevin Olberg

"Hit & Run has a massive «star grabbing» feel, the synth and guitar surges sounding like as many jumps above the stratosphere, and the vocalizing choirs on top making it a definitive cosmic jam.

Turbulens is more earthy than spacy : drum breaks and big ass basslines bring out an irresistible leg shaking feel, the melodic guitars on top balance the vibe into that delicious moment when caribbean sunsets turn the day into a warm a groovy night, certainly a party starter."

Nectar Eyes - June 26 2020

Written & Produced by Kanot
Mastering by Mathias Engwall
Vocals by Caroline Dosamsan
Mixed at Furustudion, Sthlm
Artwork by Johan Alenius

Din Förevigt Amen / Yours Forever Amen / La Tienne Toujours Amen - April 24 2020

Written & Produced by Kanot & Virginia And The Flood
Mastering by Mathias Engwall
Vocals by Cornelia Adamsson
Mixed at Furustudion, Sthlm
Photography by Per Nadén

"This collaborative release combine Virginia And The Flood's bittersweet melody with Kanot's modern psychedelic soundscapes. The sincere and naked tone of Cornelia Adamssons voice brings to mind an old soul in a young persons body. Synthesized harmonica, effect-saturated marimba, playful lead guitar and plectrum bass are maturely kept in pocket. Tom-driven back beat and a blend of high- and low-fidelity percussion sets you on a slow and steady march forward in this little dub-rock epos."

Bottenmannen & La Dance Des Corneilles - October 29 2019

Written & Produced by Kanot
Mastering by Mathias Engwall
Vocals by Lindha Kallerdahl
Mixed at Furustudion, Sthlm
7" Vinyl released on Höga Nord Records

"Kanot is Jesper Jarold and Anton Kolbe. With their wide open ears and sharp sense of adaptation they have been involved in some of the last year’s most interesting Swedish musical acts - Fontän, Tross, Uran Gbg, Ultra Satan among others. With the help of Lindha Kallerdahl’s expressive vocals, Jarold and Kolbe weave an eclectic yet durable sonic textile. Call it music for psychedelic hiking, primitive dance beats or speculative folk music - most of all, it is unrestrained music, for the smartest and the dumbest kid in the classroom.

"In the dense, and yet spacios production, some drums anchor themselves steadily into the ground while others lash out like reverberating rhythmic gunshots. The tones from Jesper’s guitar and fretless bass float like leaves on the Drangme Chhu River, at times almost drowning in effects only to resurface in surprising and skillfully chiseled melodies that could play forever. This Höga Nord Rekords 7” is just a teaser of an exciting collaboration of which we have yet only seen the opening credits!"
